DC happy hours

The best happy hour food deals in DC, under $10 (June 2026)

Anyone can find a half-price drink in this town. The harder thing is a plate worth ordering for its own sake, at a price that does not make you wince. Boozy tracks happy hour food across DC, and these 11 spots are where the kitchen is the reason to come, from dollar oysters to a ten-dollar birria pizza.

A Ferracci-style collage on a flat blood-red field: a metal basket of thin fries, a plate of three sliders, half-shell oysters beside two dishes of green olives, and a coupe of pale straw-gold wine, all floating between thin black poster rule lines with one small chromium-yellow accent.

Up north

Code Red

Code Red does the rare thing on 18th Street and runs happy hour every single night. The kitchen leans hard on eight-dollar plates, smoked gouda arancini, crispy brussels, goat cheese bruschetta, and on Tuesdays the oysters fall to a dollar. We would go for the arancini and a Tuesday seat.

Adams Morgan Mon to Sun, 5 to 7 PM

New Heights

New Heights has held its corner of Calvert Street for years, and it earns the tenure. The pork belly buns run ten dollars and the truffle fries hold their own against the cocktails. Thursdays bring dollar oysters, and the whole thing runs six days a week.

Woodley Park Tue to Sun, 5 to 7 PM

Silver

Up on Wisconsin, Silver is a slider place and proud of it. The pickle-fried chicken is seven dollars, the chimichurri wings five, with a long afternoon window from 3 to 6:30. Spend right up to the line on the ten-dollar crab cake slider if the day calls for it.

Cathedral Commons Mon to Fri, 3 to 6:30 PM

DIVINO

DIVINO is the Glover Park standby for Italian snacking before dinner is even a question. Arancini al tartufo and calamari fritti run eight dollars, the truffle fries six, every day from 4 to 6. The seven-dollar Negronis and Aperol spritzes know exactly what they are doing.

Glover Park Daily, 4 to 6 PM

Anafre

Anafre cooks like the ten-dollar ceiling is a dare. Birria pizza, birria tacos, seafood nachos, all sent out to the bar and the patio. We would pair the pizza with the seven-dollar house margarita and stay through the window.

Columbia Heights Tue to Fri, 4 to 6:30 PM

Oysters on the half shell with a lemon wedge, a Ferracci-style collage on blood red.

Downtown and the Hill

Boqueria Penn Quarter

Boqueria is built for the slow graze, a table of small Spanish plates that add up before you notice. Pan con tomate runs two dollars, the jamon croquetas and patatas bravas six, every day from 3 to 7. You can eat a full meal here for the price of an entree.

Penn Quarter Daily, 3 to 7 PM

Barrel

Barrel is a bourbon bar on Pennsylvania Avenue with a kitchen that pulls its weight. The pork tacos and burger sliders go for $8.50, with a beet tostada worth putting in the middle of the table. The window holds steady from 4 to 7, and the brown-spirits list runs deep.

Capitol Hill Mon to Fri, 4 to 7 PM

Agua 301

Down by Yards Park, Agua 301 makes Tuesday the whole point, three-dollar tacos from afternoon to close. The rest of the week a seven-dollar taco duo carries it, next to five-dollar drafts and six-dollar margaritas. We would block off a Tuesday.

Navy Yard Mon to Sat, 3:30 to 6:30 PM

The corridors

DC9

DC9 is the after-work room on 9th that never oversells itself. Five-dollar garlic fries, five-dollar fried green tomato sliders, a five-dollar drink menu to match. No pretense, and none needed.

Shaw Mon to Fri, 5 to 7 PM

Jojo

On U Street, Jojo serves ten-dollar happy hour plates that eat like the full-price ones. Bourbon ribs and fries, the Jojo burger, calamari fried light. Seven days a week, 5 to 7, which is more generous than most.

U Street Daily, 5 to 7 PM

Focus Social Club

Focus Social Club keeps one of the longer windows on H Street, a full three hours from 5 to 8. Ten things sit under ten dollars, the bang bang shrimp, the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, the wings at $4.99. We would start with the egg rolls and let the clock run.

H Street NE Wed to Fri, 5 to 8 PM
